FAMILYKITE / DOCUMENTATION
Terms of use
What these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and Mahmut Berat İmdat ("we", "us"), an individual developer who publishes FamilyKite, a parental control and activity time app ("the app"), under the name mbisoft. mbisoft is a publishing name, not a company.
By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Who may use the app
The account is opened by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. That parent creates child profiles for their own children, and children use only the child screens the parent set up.
The app is for a parent supervising their own child. You must not use it to monitor another adult, or a child you have no parental responsibility for.
You are responsible for telling your child, in a way suited to their age, that their phone is supervised. The app helps with this: while protection is on, the child’s phone always shows that it is.
Your account
Keep your password and your parent PIN to yourself. You are responsible for everything done under your account and under the child accounts you create.
Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current. It is the only way to recover the account.
What the app does, and what it does not
FamilyKite helps you set daily app limits, pause apps, answer extra-time requests, lend your phone with limits, and run activity times: activities with a countdown your child watches.
It relies on features of the phone’s operating system (Android permissions, Apple Screen Time), on permissions that can be turned off, and on a network connection.
It is an aid, not a guarantee. A limit may fail to apply, apply late, or be bypassed — for example when a permission is turned off, the app is removed, the phone is offline, or the operating system changes how it behaves. The app does not replace a parent’s own supervision, and you remain responsible for your child’s use of their device.
The child support profile is a notebook for your own notes. It is not medical, psychological or educational advice, and it does not replace a professional’s.
Free use and Premium
The app can be used free of charge with a weekly allowance of activity time starts and rule set-ups. Premium removes those allowances.
Premium is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price and for the period shown at purchase. Payment is taken by the store.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your store account settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period. Deleting the app or closing your FamilyKite account does not cancel a store subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules. We cannot issue store refunds ourselves.
When Premium ends, the rules already applied on a device stay in place; only creating new ones returns to the weekly allowance.
We may change Premium prices or features. The store will tell you before a price change affects a renewal.
Acceptable use
You must not try to access another family’s data; interfere with, overload or disrupt the service; copy, modify or reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows; or use the app for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass or secretly track anyone.
Our rights in the app, and your content
The app, its design, text, illustrations and code belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your family’s own, non-commercial use, under these terms.
Content you add, such as activity time titles, photos and notes, stays yours. You allow us to store and show it to your family only so that the app can work.
Your data
How personal data is collected, used and deleted is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store’s own terms also apply. These terms are between you and us only, not Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Closing the account
You can close your account at any time from Account → Privacy and data → Close my account, or by writing to support@mbisoft.com from your account’s email address. Sign-in stops at once; the data is kept for 30 days so the account can be reopened on request, then deleted.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Where we can, we tell you first.
Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may update these terms. When the terms change, the version date above changes too. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a limit, block or activity time that did not work as expected.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. This does not take away mandatory protections of the country you live in.
For consumers in Türkiye, the Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts have jurisdiction.
